Description

So I was attending my astronomy clubs meeting, on ZOOM, last night, when they announced the target challenge for next month.  I had my scope set up, and was looking for a target, and they gave me one!  Happy I went to check it out.  Another cool region of space.  Turns out, a lot of the galaxies that I have been imaging lately are part of the M109 group.  These galaxies are part of that group as well.  There is a lot going on in the constellation Ursa Major this time of year!  Well I guess any time, it's just we can see it now, high in the north.  That's good for me, because low north is blocked by the house.  This is a spiral galaxy, however it is labled as a peculiar one due to the irregular arms. 4085 seems a little more normal in that sense.  both of these galaxies are right around 50+ million light years away from us.  There are plenty more galaxies to go after!  Clear Skies
Mark
